WASHINGTON, DC – A vehicle struck and killed a 31-year-old driver in north-central Washington DC on Thursday.
The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on 16th Street Northwest near Rock Creek Park Holly Trail. This is near the Shepherd Park area.
Police say that Heidy Rocio Lovo Marquez was crossing 16th Street outside of a designated crosswalk when the car hit her. Marquez died at the scene.
The driver involved in the crash stayed at the scene to render aid and speak with authorities.
