WASHINGTON D.C. – A 62-year-old man died, and his wife sustained injuries when a vehicle struck them at a busy intersection in southeast D.C.
The incident occurred just after noon at the intersection of Alabama Avenue and Naylor Road, which is just west of Safeway and the Hillcrest Recreation Center.
Police say that a hit-and-run driver struck a man and his wife in the crosswalk of the intersection.
The man, identified as Alton Kelly, sustained fatal injuries.
Medics transported Kelly’s wife to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
Authorities located the white sedan that struck the couple, but they’ve not yet found the driver.
