FORT WASHINGTON, MD – One person died, and two people sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle crash along a major roadway in southwestern Prince George’s County.
The accident happened around 6:15 p.m. on Route 210 near Fort Washington Road in Fort Washington. This is just southwest of Friendly.
Police say that four vehicles were involved and that several people became trapped in their vehicles and required extrication. It’s unclear what caused the accident.
A woman died from injuries sustained in the accident. Authorities have not yet released her identity.
Medics transported two others to the hospital, one with critical injuries and the other with non-critical injuries.
Officials closed the highway in both directions while crews worked to clear the scene.
