SPRINGFIELD, VA – One fatality and at least three injuries have been reported in connection to a multi-vehicle collision that happened Monday in southern Fairfax County.
Officials reported lane closures shortly after 3 p.m. along I-495 northbound, or the Capital Beltway, near Braddock Road following a crash involving a Ford F-150, a Scion XB, a Toyota Tacoma, and a Honda Civic.
Police haven’t yet disclosed the cause or circumstances of the accident. They say that one of the vehicles overturned, while the Scion sustained severe damage to its rear end.
One person sustained fatal injuries. Authorities have not yet released their name to the public.
Medics transported three people to area hospitals — one with serious injuries and the other two with non-critial injuries.
