Narrative
WASHINGTON D.C. – One woman died, and another person sustained injuries in a two-vehicle crash along a major roadway in the Mount Pleasant area of D.C.
The incident happened around 10:27 p.m. on 16th Street Northwest between Newton Street Northwest and Lamont Street Northwest. This is just northwest of Powell Recreation School.
Police say that a northbound Subaru hit the front of BMW while attempting to pass it. The Subaru then left the roadway and crashed into a tree.
The passenger in the Subaru died at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident.
Medics transported the driver of the Subaru to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
No other injuries have been reported in connection to the crash.
