Narrative
ALEXANDRIA, VA – A 20-year-old man died late last month in a motorcycle accident involving two other vehicles along the interstate in Alexandria.
The crash occurred on Saturday, September 28th, around 2 p.m. on the westbound side of I-495 near the exit for Telegraph Road. This is just northwest of Huntington Park and southwest of Alexandria National Cemetery.
Police say that for unknown reasons, the operator of a 2012 Yamaha YZF-R1 struck both a Toyota 4Runner and a third vehicle. The motorcycle then crashed along the roadway.
The motorcyclist, identified as Michael A. Dart, died at the scene of the accident.
No other injuries have been reported in connection the the collision.
Authorities are searching for the third vehicle, which they say fled the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
